Privacy Policy

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

2. Overview

This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no third-party content. Fonts are served from our own server. We process personal data only as far as necessary to run the website, handle your requests and provide demo access.

3. Hosting

The files of this website are stored with Amazon Web Services (provider: Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Luxembourg) in Amazon S3 in the USA (region Oregon) and delivered via the Amazon CloudFront network, in Europe usually from servers in the EU. When you visit the website, AWS processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, date and time, requested address and browser information in order to deliver the content and keep the service secure. We have not enabled access logs. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement with AWS is in place. For the transfer to the USA, AWS is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

4. Contact and demo requests

If you contact us by e-mail or via the demo form, we process your details (name, work e-mail, institution, role, number of learners, languages of interest and your message) to handle your request, set up demo access and advise you on our offering (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Requests submitted via the form are stored with Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt am Main (region eu-central-1). To prevent abuse we also store your browser identifier (user agent) and, instead of your IP address, only a pseudonymised value (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Stored requests are deleted automatically after twelve months, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

We are notified of each request by e-mail (sent via Amazon SES in Frankfurt). Our mailbox, also for messages to info@simulacron.ai, is operated by goneo Internet GmbH, Dresdener Straße 18, 32423 Minden, Germany. We keep e-mails as long as needed to handle them and to meet statutory retention periods.

5. Demo platform (AI language partner)

The demo platform at sprachpartner.simulacron.ai requires an account. For sign-in we process your e-mail address and a password; user management runs on Amazon Cognito (AWS) in the USA (region Virginia, EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses). To keep you signed in, a sign-in token is stored in your browser; this is technically necessary for the service (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

During a conversation your voice (audio) is processed in real time so that the AI partner can answer you. For most languages we use AI models from Google (Gemini; Google Cloud EMEA Limited, Ireland); your audio is transmitted to Google during the conversation and may be processed outside the EU. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The Low German and North Frisian partners run exclusively on our own servers in Germany.

Conversations are recorded only if you have explicitly consented beforehand (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Otherwise the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Customer installations are governed by the respective data processing agreement.

6. Newsletter

We currently do not send a newsletter. If you subscribed via this website in the past, your e-mail address was stored with the software listmonk based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@simulacron.ai; we will then delete your address.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 18, 20 and 21 GDPR), and you may withdraw consent at any time. Contact info@simulacron.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD), Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany.

8. No obligation, no automated decisions

You are not obliged to provide personal data, but without it we cannot handle your request or set up demo access. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
